Have you taken 101 with us and ready to take on more? Tired or parking and drafting or just feeling a little stiff in your spinning flow? Spinning yarn on a drop spindle but feeling like you are struggling to really dial it in? Wondering how to better control the kind of yarn you are spinning? Handspinning 102 is just the space for you to continue your drop spindle journey!
This is one of our biggest bang for your buck classes, every student who has taken it had both had visibile lightbulb moments and has a visible learning curve over the course of their two hours.
This event is great for folks looking for more ease and control with their drop spindle spinning or to dust off their rusty skills if they have spun but it's been a while.
The logistics
Time Commitment: 2 hours
Structure: We'll open up with spinning pure silk mawata to try a long staple length fiber with a lot of drafting and then move into spinning wool yarns with more technical information, lots of room to get hands on feedback on your spinning, and an opportunity to try chain plying.
What to bring:
Just yourself and any questions you have come across on your own spinning journey.
What you leave with:
Your sample skiens, one of our custom blend fibers, and another hardwood drop spindle!
